Facing into 2023, we can expect to see increased hiring demands and higher salaries across many roles and disciplines, with some roles demanding substantial increases. This coupled with the rising cost-of-living, is placing additional pressure on already escalating salaries .
We saw a change in the jobs market in 2022, with candidates placing greater emphasis on other perks and benefits offered by employers. Aside from salary, high on their agenda is work-life balance, hybrid and flexible working. From an employer’s perspective, these can be important aspects in determining the success of both recruitment and retention efforts.
Unemployment rates for December were 4.3.%, lower than the pre pandemic level of 4.8%. With low unemployment rates and increased number of vacancies employers are finding it increasingly difficult to attract and retain talent.
