My client, an established manufacturing specialist in Co. Westmeath, are recruiting for an experienced Facilities and Environmental Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

Overview:
This role entails overseeing the enhancement, upkeep, and operation of the plant's auxiliary equipment, structures, and premises. It involves ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards while striving to achieve sustainability objectives, including waste reduction, emission control, and energy efficiency.

Key Duties:

  • Lead and oversee all capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects related to facility upgrades, installations, renovations, and procurement of new equipment.
  • Manage preventive maintenance and repairs for facilities and auxiliary equipment like chillers and compressors.
  • Supervise and train the facilities engineering team.
  • Handle budgeting and contracting for facility maintenance, engineering, and environmental services.
  • Coordinate with production, quality, and safety managers to optimize plant efficiency.
  • Monitor and report environmental metrics such as water consumption, carbon footprint, and waste recycling rates.
  • Maintain and enhance an environmental management system compliant with ISO 14001 standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for waste management, recycling, and energy conservation.
  • Conduct environmental audits and inspections to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Engage with external stakeholders such as regulators, customers, and suppliers on environmental issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience as a facilities manager or similar role in an injection moulding or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of facilities operations, maintenance, and environmental management
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and standards
  • Proven Project Management capability
  • Excellent organizational, communication, project management and leadership skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
