Senior Operations Manager - Permanent - Mayo
Job Description
My client, a Biologics manufacturing multinational, is recruiting for a Senior Manufacturing Manager to join their diverse Biologics Manufacturing team in Westport, Co. Mayo.
Reporting to the Assoc. Director for the area, in this role you will support the existing management structure of the 12-hour operation.  Liaising with 12-hour managers and ensuring that full support is given to the AD of Operations. You will be responsible for the communication across the 12-hour shifts and ongoing continuity at all times.
Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong manufacturing organization capable of delivering innovative medicines at varying scales, making a remarkable impact on patient’s lives.

  • Coach and mentor your team ensuring successful career development, a culture of continuous learning and encouraging an atmosphere of involvement, open communication and effective teamwork.

  • Execute systems in place to coach and develop Senior Technicians to support the Company’s succession planning

  • Encourage and reward improvement ideas and results via formal and informal mechanisms.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing AD to develop and deliver a business plan providing appropriate timely information as required

  • Ensure that customer orders and requirements are met/ exceeded.

  • Assess and develop plans around regulatory changes and the impact they may have on the process

  • Manage New Product Introduction and implementation programmes.

  • Establish appropriate KPI’s and manage non-conforming KPI’s.

  • Develop and follow your Leader’s Standard Work, and ensure senior techs do the same

  • Representing the company at client and regulatory facing meetings and audits.

  • Ensure all activities of the Manufacturing Department are performed in accordance with compliance requirements, GMP, OPEX standards and relevant SOPs and policies through Process Confirmation where appropriate

  • Provide leadership at the tiered OPEX meetings to ensure focus and traction is maintained on the key objectives

  • Lead organizational RCPS and support technical and other RCPS sessions, this includes ownership of all operational Root Cause Problem Solving

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a pharmaceutical science/ engineering / operations discipline including minimum 5 years’ experience in Pharma/Med Device/Food Operations

  • As a people leader, it is important that you have 3 years plus of direct people management experience.

  • Clear understanding and proven track record of working within a regulated environment

  • Excellent organizational, leadership, communication & motivational skills
